caraça, Brasil

In this place called Caraça, in Minas Gerais, I started my passion for photography in 2015.

Unfortunately back then I only had a bad bridge camera and didn't have any clue about the art of Photography.  I am very happy that I was able to go back in 2019 to study the same population of titi monkeys (Callicebus nigrifrons) and to have a second chance for taking photos of this truly wonderful place.

In Caraça, the type of forest encountered is called mata atlantica, it has nothing to do with the one found in amazonian basin. It looks like a mix between mediterranean and tropical forests. Surrounded by mountains, nights are cold and days can be very hot. Rather short trees, dense undergrowth with many spines and epiphytes everywhere watered by the abondant morning mysts.  (Sept-Oct 2019)
